Research Programme

The CRG has designed and organized a number of researches on the theme of forced migration. The three researches on internal displacement in Nepal, Migrants of Kolkata and Finland’s Asylum Policy were conducted by Shiv Dhungana, Eeva Puumala and Priyanca Mathur Velath and Nand Kishor respectively.  This collection of three papers has come out in CRG series on Policies and Practices (No.17). Besides, CRG’s critique of National Rehabilitation Policy and Communal Violence Bill 2007 is published under the same series (No. 16). Separate studies conducted on displacement in Batticaloa (Sri Lanka) and Chattisgarh (India) were published by CRG under the same series (No.15).
As a result of these researches a significant section of the course material consisted of CRGs’ own findings. Then for instance, two issues of Refugee Watch (Nos. 28 & 29) were issued as course

material. CRG is currently designing a separate reader on forced migration and a publication of selections from Refugee Watch,to be used as course material.
All these follow-up activities have ensured the transition of the course into a full-fledged programme.
