Asraful Islam   is a dedicated Research Assistant and Anthropologist known for his expertise in Medical Anthropology, Climate Change, and Migration. He holds a Master's degree in Sociology from South Asian University, India (2023), and a Bachelor's degree in Anthropology from Jahangirnagar University. Recently, he collaborated with North Carolina University on the “Safety Food Dhaka Program,” demonstrating his commitment to public health. Asraful’s experience in the development sector is extensive, with over 13 completed projects. His key focus areas include climate issues, youth engagement, anti-corruption, migration, trafficking, local governance, and health. Asraful's work blends academic insight with practical solutions, making a significant impact on social and environmental challenges.

Climate and economically induced migration: An ethnographic study in the Satkhira border belt of Bangladesh Abstract

Acharya Acharya  holding an MPhil in Population Studies from Tribhuwan University, Kathmandu with over two decades of experience in lecturing on population studies. Currently, he serves as a lecturer at Gramin Adarsha Multiple Campus in Balaju, Kathmandu, where he imparts his knowledge to learn about population dynamics and related subjects. Voluntarily, Mr Acharya is serving as Secretary of Nepal Institute of Peace (NIP), Executive Board member of Population Association of Nepal (PAN). As a part of NIP, he has been frequently involved on refugee and IDPs studies and discussions series in Nepal. He also involves as a Program Manager at a non-governmental organization (NGO) named Society for Local Integrated Development Nepal (SOLID Nepal), oversees and implements various projects addressing local development issues. Mr Acharya's extensive experience extends beyond academia and into the realm of social research management. He has a good experiences on management and coordination of clinical trial research. With a robust skill set encompassing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, he has sound knowledge on developing study tools for data collection and analysis in diverse settings. In 2010, Mr Acharya had attended Winter Course on Forced Migration conducted by MCRG Kolkata

Natural Disaster, Internal Displaced People and Media Coverage in Nepal

Abstract

Rahul Kumar Yaduka is a PhD Student at the School of Development Studies, B R Ambedkar University Delhi. His PhD topic is Politics and Policy of Environmental Issues: The Case of Koshi River Floods in Bihar. He has done B. Tech. in Civil Engineering from IIT Bombay (2010-14) and MA in Political Science from University of Delhi (2016-18). His thesis submission is expected in April 2024. His research interests are Disaster Studies, Development Studies, Migration, Climate Change and People’s Resistance. He engages with analytical frameworks, viz., Political Ecology, Politics of Disasters, Politics of Knowledge and Resistance Studies. Apart from academic work, he has been engaged with community-based organizations in Bihar, working on issues like floods, urban poverty, migration, slums and homelessness. He is the member-secretary of People’s Commission on Koshi River Basin, and also participant of river valley-based people’s movements as a researcher.
